Dogs are man's best friend. Therefore, treat your dogs like people. The proper way of washing and cleaning dog water bowls should also be strictly followed as how you wash your dishes. Sanitation is pertinent to keep them healthy and strong. Like human beings, animals or dogs in particular can also get infected with bacteria and other diseases due to dirty bowls.

Steps in Cleaning Dog Bowls:

1. Make sure that the bowl is washed with soap and water before food is placed inside. After eating, immediately take the bowl and bring it to the sink for washing.

2. Rinse it with warm water and pour a few drops of dish soap and meticulously soap the internal and external part of the bowl.

3. If possible, scrub the bowls with a brush or sponge to remove all food particles especially when left unwashed for some time. Normally leftovers harden and may roughly stick unto the bowl.

4. Use cool water in rinsing. Ensure that the soap is thoroughly washed off to avoid ingestion on your pet's next meal.

5. Wipe it dry with cloth or paper towel.

6. After washing, you may fill up the bowl with clean filtered water and then pour in some Clorox to sit for several minutes.

7. Then thoroughly wash it with soapy water and rinse well. Again, make sure that no soap is left on the bowl.

8. Have it air dry and keep the bowl when not in used.

Remember to wash the bowl every time your dog finishes eating. Imagine how it is to eat on an unwashed plate even just for a few hours. Do you still have the appetite to eat scrumptiously? I don't think so. So as with your pets, therefore, if dogs are man's best friend then treat them as one.

Providing your pet with clean utensils makes them healthy and strong. It will also make them happy, so much so if you give them something colorful and fancy utensils to eat and drink from. Your pet will be totally gratified with you. Another important thing aside from proper washing is to provide them with a healthy, balance diet. You may ask a vet's recommendation for this.

Once again, make sure that dish soaps are properly rinsed from your dog water bowl before serving another meal to them. Ignoring or frequent neglect of this fact may cause your puppy to get sick.
