Middle Age? Old Age? WTF?! |
|
Author: Webmistress, Vigaland MIDDLE AGE? OLD AGE? WTF?!
One of the small pleasures ... if that's the right word for it ... left to us as we age is seeing how things are changing and how we're trying to keep up with modern technology, modern vernacular (ie.. short forms for texting) and all that other stuff going on around us. Sometime it's funny. Sometimes you want to cry. And sometimes the best way to handle it is to say "WTF!" (Since I don't like swearing, I'll presume you know what WTF stands for!
Anyway, I have a friend who every so often posts these things on Facebook and they always give me a laugh ... and heaven knows you can't have too much laughter (can you?) I enjoyed these ones and will keep adding to them as he keeps posting them. Enjoy along with me.
MIDDLE AGE TEXTING CODES:
ATD -at the doctor. BFF -best friend fell. BTW - bring the wheelchair . BYOT -bring your own teeth. FWIW -forgot where I was. GGPBL -gotta go, pacemaker battery low. GHA -got heartburn again. IMHO -is my hearing aid on? LMDO -laughing my dentures out. OMMR -on my massage recliner. ROFLACGU -rolling on floor laughing and can't get up. TTYL -talk to you louder!
LIFE BEFORE THE COMPUTER:
Memory was something you lost with Age...... An Application was for Employment.... A program was a TV show.... A Cursor used profanity... A Keyboard was a piano... A Web was a spider's home... A Virus was the Flu.... A Hard Drive was a long trip on the road..... A Mouse was something the Cat chased... And if you had a 3 inch floppy...You just hoped NOBODY found out !!!!
FUNNIES:
Vodka and ice will ruin your kidneys. Rum and ice will ruin your liver. Whiskey and ice will ruin your heart. Gin and ice w ll ruin your brain. Coke and ice will ruin your teeth. Apparently ice is lethal!!! Warn all your friends: Lay off the ice!! Copy & paste this immediately, it can save a life.
EXERCISE FOR PEOPLE OVER 40:
Begin with a 5-lb potato bag in each hand, extend your arms straight out from your sides and hold them there as long as you can. Each day you'll find that you can hold this position for just a bit longer.
After a couple of weeks, move up to 10-lb potato bags.
Then try 50-lb potato bags and then eventually try to get to where you can lift a 100-lb potato bag in each hand . (I'm at this level.)
After you feel confident at that level, put a potato in each bag ...
